Who am I ripping off part 3; James Blagden. Possibly my favorite illustrator to have graduated from SVA, at least at this moment. It was fun imitating his style, but I'll probably just keep it in the sketchbook, until I can sort of assimilate it into my way of drawing.

Also, awkward drawings of shoes. That one is sketches for this larger drawing. It's about 2 foot square or something, might try to photograph it.

Fell behind the goal of once weekly posting pretty quickly. Well then, here's a bunch. Some of these I'm not very happy with, but, like you know how when you look at someone's sketchbook, the good stuff is more interesting in, like, it's relationship to the bad stuff, and the bad stuff that keeps re-appearing? Like it's something the artist really likes drawing, so keeps doing, but it's the same every time? And just seems lamer ever time that element re-appears? I'm not talking about myself anymore? Do you know what I'm talking about? Annoying, isn't it?

Uh he's holding his neck because he was shot there. Taken from this scene in Denis Johnson's Already Dead, except without the new-agey ghosts the character maybe hallucinates. It's not like he's in the woods being sad like some loser in a liberal arts college near a forest.
